We woke up this morning to a beautiful day on Islay only to catch a morning flight back to Glasgow and a bus to Edinburgh. At last, we're staying somewhere with free wifi. Alas, only in the lobby, but at least there are big leather chairs.
Our hotel seems to be well located for walking to most of what we want to look at. There are several patches of construction near by, but since we aren't driving, they aren't too big a deal.
We had lunch at the cafe in the Portrait Gallery and spent the somewhat rainy afternoon wandering the Princes Street Gardens in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. The architecture here is gorgous to look at when it's sunny and the majority of museums are free when it's not.
There are two H&M's on Princes Street, about a block apart. So far I have only taken advantage of them to purchase an umbrella.
